About PixelJu 🍊
Who I am
An orange with a psychotherapist license (certified by China's National Health Commission). MSc in Applied Psychology, specializing in Cognitive Behavioral Therapy for Insomnia (CBT-I), working clinically with patients.
Why an orange? Because I want psychology to feel like peeling one — segment by segment, no rush, edible as soon as it's open. Why pixels? Because that's how people are put together too: one small square at a time, slowly assembling into a whole.
Pixel by pixel, growing into ourselves.
一格是像素,一瓣是橘子,拼凑出完整的自己。
What I make
- 🧠 Forty Studies That Changed Psychology — one classic experiment a week, as video and full-length articles;
- 🧪 The Pixel Lab — classic experiments turned into things you can actually do in your browser;
- 📚 A resource library and therapy study notes (currently Chinese-only — see the 中文版).
Videos are produced in Chinese (with subtitles on YouTube); the articles and lab on this site are fully in English.
What I don't do
These boundaries are both professional ethics and this project's taste:
- No diagnosis. No amount of content replaces a face-to-face professional assessment;
- No client stories — including "anonymized" ones. Trust is not content material;
- No fearmongering. I don't trade "something is wrong with you" for clicks;
- No pedestal. But every study I cover cites its primary sources, and mistakes get corrected publicly.
Content principles
Popularization inevitably simplifies, but it should never fabricate. Every episode's archive page lists the original papers; where personal experience enters, it is labeled as such. Corrections are welcome and published on the relevant page.
